Peter A. Mortensen was one of three violinists that provided entertainment and enjoyment for the Hole in the Rock party. He was also one of many that were hung over the cliffs on ropes, to drill holes for the dynamite.
Music for the dances was provided mainly by the camps' three fiddlers, Samuel Cox, Charles E. Walton, and Peter A. Mortensen. However, accordions, trumpets, jews harps, and a cornet were also used for music at times.
