Mortensen, Peter Andrew and Hanna Maria Smith

Peter was born 29 May 1858 Parowan, Iron, UT.  He died 10 January 1934.  His parents were Anders Jorgen Mortensen Or Pedersen and Christine Christensen Andersen.  Siblings

Their daughter Laverne was born on November 3, 1882 in Manasa, Colorado. She died on November 21, 1918 in Ogden, Utah.
 
Peter A. Mortensen was one of three violinists that provided entertainment and enjoyment for the Hole in the Rock party. He was also one of many that were hung over the cliffs on ropes, to drill holes for the dynamite.
Music for the dances was provided mainly by the camps' three fiddlers, Samuel Cox, Charles E. Walton, and Peter A. Mortensen. However, accordions, trumpets, jews harps, and a cornet were also used for music at times.
